Logging into Home Assistant Dashboard
After your Carbon Co-op representative has visited your home or business to install the PowerShaper HEMS box and connect it with your EV charger, Immersion, Battery or Solar PV, you can then log in to an online dashboard where it is possible to see details of your power usage, and if you would like to, save schedules and configure automations. This online dashboard is a customised version of a software tool called Home Assistant.
1. Connect to the HEMS wifi:
First connect to the HEMS wifi network on any device with WiFi capabilities e.g. a laptop or tablet. Click on the wifi network icon on your computer, and the default network name for your HEMS will look similar to cofybox-XXXX where the final characters are unique to your unit:
Click on the cofybox-XXXX option that you see in your wifi network list. You will then be asked for a password, and the default password is the two words printed on the underside of your HEMS box. Make sure you include the dash in between, for example happy-sun.
The Carbon Co-op technician may have also left a card with the relevant information like in this picture:
2. Log into Home Assistant
Open an internet browser window and type 10.42.0.1 into the address bar, then click enter to search. You will see a login page like below. Your Carbon Co-op representative will have provided a username and password to log into this screen (this will be a username and password for Home Assistant, separate from the name and password).
If you do not have your Home Assistant username and password, please contact powershaper@carbon.coop
3. The Flexibility Dashboard
Now you are are logged in, the dashboard provides information about your devices as well as the HEMS box itself. You can customise this dashboard to display advanced information about your smart energy devices.
4. Advanced User settings
In the bottom left part of the dashboard you can access Configuration. From here you are able to install further integrations or make changes to your system.
There is in-depth documentation online for Home Assistant, and guides exist on how to connect to various other smart energy devices. For more information on how to customise your dashboard, consult the official Home Assistant documentation:
